The First Certificate is the most popular of the Cambridge examinations, and can lead to new opportunities professionally and academically. Our courses are designed to prepare students for all 5 parts of the exam (reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar).

The Certificate in Advanced English examination is especially intended for students with high quality knowledge of English who need to use the language in their work. In this examination, practical use of English is stressed, such as skim reading reports for important information, writing memos for colleagues, or more formal business correspondence. The CAE, the newest Cambridge certificate, has quickly developed its reputation, and is already accepted in many countries as evidence of an advanced level of competence in English.
The Certificate of Proficiency in English indicates a level of competence which is recognized as fulfilling entrance requirements in English language by British universities and many universities in other English-speaking countries, and by other institutions of higher education and professional bodies world-wide. CPE provides exemption from local English language requirements or is a qualification for admission to courses or employment where a thorough knowledge of English is required.

The Business English Certificate is designed to test the English used in business. It is suitable for adults (aged 16 and over) who are either preparing for a career in business or already in work. The BEC Vantage level assesses language ability used in the context of business for general language proficiency.

The exam courses are available only at LSI San Diego, and the exams will be taken at the official Cambridge Testing Center at LSI San Diego during the last week of the course.

The TOEFLŽ or TOEICŽ courses are one of the afternoon options of the Intensive 30 program.

The TOEFLŽ test is the English examination required of non-native speakers of English to gain admission at more than 2,000 colleges and universities in the USA. It is also used by a growing number of companies as evidence of proficiency in English. More than 800,000 people take the TOEFLŽ test every year in one of the 1,300 test centers worldwide.

The test, which consists of 4 sections, measures listening comprehension, structure and written expression, as well as reading comprehension and vocabulary using a multiple-choice format.
The overall number of points you achieve in these four areas will show the level of your language skills. To achieve a good result you will probably need to take at least a four week intensive course.
The TOEICŽ test is a Business English Exam for international students and professionals, and consists of Listening and Reading sections, with Speaking and Writing sections to be released in the USA in 2008. Millions of people each year take the TOEIC tests to advance their careers.
